Schlotterback Cemetery is in Knoxville Township Section 2 Township 75 Range 20. It is visible from Hwy. 92 and is located on the western part of the Veterans' Administration campus, within Knoxville city limits. The parcel number is 0978745500.

 

This site was entirely restored by the MCPCC in 2012, with almost all of the 22 gravestones professionally repaired and set, and the chain link fence repaired. It is surrounded by a former golf course. This is the first Knoxville graveyard, with the first recorded burial of 1845. There are a few unmarked concrete blocks in the northwest corner, which are believed to be former patients when the hospital was a center for inebriates.

 

This cemetery can only be accessed by winding through the VA campus from the south entrance, then east and then to the west. There are undoubtedly many unmarked graves here.
