SWEEM CEMETERY

Sweem Cemetery is  located in Indiana Township, Section 3 Township 74 Range 19, on parcel number 0425300100. The land was obtained from the government by David T. Sweem after he came to Indiana Township in 1844. It is located about 1.25 miles north and west of Attica. It cannot be seen from the road and is far back in the field.

The cemetery is well fenced with five gravestones, including a large one for David Sweem and his wife Eliza, who died in 1868 and 1898, respectively. David Sweem was a preacher. There is much information about him with gravestone photographs on www.findagrave.com.
